Tips Wedding Speeches

Irrespective of the variety of wedding celebration you are organizing, prospects are there will probably be some wedding speeches. These are generally a part of every wedding reception and are there to observe the happy couple.  Generally, if you are expecting speeches at your wedding reception, you need to know who and when they will be talking.

The magnificence of wedding speeches are different but they are expected to give thanks, brief comical stories, or toasts from the heart for the bride and groom. If you do opt to have the best man talk, which is traditional, he should be the first and toast both the bride and bridegroom and all the wedding attendees.

Fathers of the bride also generally talk, and now we have extended families, both the father of the bride and the stepfather may wish to say some words. In case the grooms father or mother expresses desire to speak they should speak about their son and why marrying his wife will improve him as a person. The speech by the maid or matron of honor may include thanking the bridal party, a humorous story about the happy couple, or things she knows about the groom.

It’s unusual for the newlywed couple’s mothers to give wedding speeches but if they choose to do it it can be sentimental and moving for all. Important tips to remember: no matter who is talking, try and keep your wedding speech to a minimum if you are aware there are other individuals who want to speak. The happy couple or their wedding planner should make a list of people that are giving speeches, put them in order with their names and role in the wedding so everyone knows what is going on.
