California Lasik Surgery Info

People have been searching on the internet on an increasing basis lately for California Lasik Surgery.

What’s LASIK and, is right for you? Let’s have a look at this very favored system of eye surgery which is permitting many thousands of Americans to be shot of their glasses and contacts for good. LASIK stands for Laser-assisted in-situ keratomileusis, the standard sort of refractive eye surgery. In a nutshell LASIK changes the way your eye refracts light. As light rays enter your eye, your cornea refracts — bends back — the rays to focus them on your retina, which is the back part of the eye. During LASIK surgery your cornea is cut and reshaped. A special device is used that may cut a hinged flap of thin corneal tissue off the cornea and the flap is lifted out of the way.

Find out all the facts about California Lasik Surgery.

The laser reshapes the corneal tissue, and the surgeon replaces the flap, which right away sticks to the eyeball. A punctured metal or plastic shield is placed over the eye to protect the flap. Surgery occasionally lasts just 10-15 mins per eye.

The majority of the time the doctor will perform surgery on both eyes consecutively. On occasion, she will have you wait some days to see how the surgery turned out on the first eye before proceeding to the second eye.

Often, healing is fast with lots people experiencing complete recovery inside a few days. While often everybody achieves twenty / twenty vision after surgery, 20 / twenty doesn’t guarantee perfect vision. If you have LASIK to mend your distance vision, you can still need reading glasses round the age of 40 5. Since the surgery is new, there is no decisive information on long term effects. Some short term issues include : issues with night driving which would need you wearing glasses, corneal scarring, permanent warping of the cornea, and flap issues which can effect your vision. Insurance corporations consider the surgery to be elective, thus be prepared to pay for the process out of your own pocket.

Take a look at the Yank Academy of Opthalmology’s net site [www.eyenet.org] for a commissioned LASIK eye surgeon in your neighborhood. Question folks who have just had this process done before you are making a call whether LASIK is suitable for you.

Student Loans

For students who do not have the money to directly pay for their college, student loans are usually used to obtain the money they are lacking. As most parents do not have the funds to directly pay for their children’s education after high school, a blend of scholarships, grants and student loans are used to pay for all costs of college or university, including tuition, books, housing fees and other expenses associated with going to college.

There are a few kinds of student loans that can be issued to a new student. The most frequently found is the federal loan. These funds have smaller limits, and are typically restricted to funding tuition fees only. The federal student loans are tightly regulated by the government, and can be obtained through the school’s financial aid program. They frequently have very small interest rate, and the student does not need to start paying back the amount owed until they have either finish school or are no longer going to school full time.

When a student goes to register for federal student loans, there are several things that should be remembered. First, there is typically a six month grace period associated with these types of loans. This means that from after the time the student finishes school or has fallen to half-time attendance, they will not have to start returning money to the loaner for six months. Interest, however, begins building as soon as you finish school school or have dropped to half-time attendance. All payments and funding owed show the student’s credit history.

There are also student loans that are given to guardians rather than to the student. These loans have higher maximums, and the interest rate may also be higher than the federal student loans that tend to be issued. Interest also begins to accrue immediately. This is due to the fact that the parents is the one responsible for the loan, not the student. This method does not help build the student’s credit rating.

Finally, there are non federal student loans. These go outside of the government regulated system, and are frequently reserved for those who require more than the limits given to standard students. Private loans have the greatest available, and may also come with the highest of interest percentages in addition to this. Private student loans are grantedeither to the parents or the students, and can be done through a series of institutions as well as private loaners. This option is usually used by people going to really high cost colleges where federal money is not enough. Students can use both private and federal student loans at the same time if required

Manila History

Manila, capital of the Philippines, represents a challenge, both blessed and cursed, slums stand alongside venerable churches and several universities contrast with the many nightclubs and exciting, 24 hour street life.

Manila is the political and economic centre of the Philippines, and it serves as a drawcard for people from all over the Philippines. For most visitors from North America or Australia, this mega-city does not seem to merit more than a few days’ visit, after which the serenity of the provinces may seem all that much more attractive. Although a visit to Manila is taxing, it nevertheless gives the visitor important insights into the culture, history and current state of this island republic, insights that stem from its very wealth of contradictions.

In the sights of foreign conquerors

Natives who settled at the mouth of the Pasig River in Manila have seen a great many rulers come and go. The first to come were the Malaysians, who arrived in the Philippines during the pre-Christian era. Hindu and Buddhist leaders from Indonesia followed. Islam got to Manila at the end of the 15th century. The Muslim reign established in the mid-sixteenth century had been in existence for barely a decade when Spanish Catholic seafarers appeared on the horizon.

Colonial Manila

Miguel de Legaspi conquered Manila in 1571, declaring it to be the capital of the Spanish colony of the Philippines. Despite the ravages of World War Two, when Manila was heavily bombed, traces of the city’s colonial past are still in evidence, particularly in the Intramuros district. Intramuros, literally “within the walls”, meaning within the wall enclosure of the city/fortress. The city centre, with its partially restored wall , is the site of a number of sixteenth-century buildings including Fort Santiago, Manila Cathedral and the church of San Augustin, the oldest in the city.

At the centre of power

The heart of Manila is now elsewhere, in Makati, the modern commercial and banking quarter. Elegant high rises, gorgeous residential estates, super-modern shopping centres and numerous international hotels can be seen. The modern development of this quarter began in the mid-twentieth century. Like much of the growth in Manila, Makati is closely connected to the politically powerful Zobel de Ayala family. The family name is found throughout the city, on streets, buildings and public monuments.

They come here not only to pray

Pasay City is located in the south-west of Manila across the superhighway from high-class Makati. On Wednesdays, Pasay is overrun with people. In Baclaran, the faithful crowd into Redemption Church, where weekly services are held in honour of the Virgin Mary. But one suspects that even more Manilans make their way to Pasay in order to patronize the neighbourhood’s famous lech6n stands, known to be the best source of that quintessential Philippine specialty, roast suckling pig.

A bit of folk culture

Throughout Manila, a light rail station is never far away. If your stomach is complaining after a feast of suckling pig, a gentle ride on this elevated railway is highly recommended. The trip back to town can also be made by Jeepney, of course, though it will be slower and more crowded.

Jeepneys were originally former US Army surplus jeeps that had been converted into passenger vehicles with as many as fourteen canopied seats. These days, however, most Jeepneys come fresh from the production line. Beautiful painting and decoration are a prerequisite for genuine Jeepney status. Most have religious icons as their central theme, but they may include funny comic strip images.

Many Jeepneys are so thoroughly covered in advertising that they resemble moving billboards, while others looks like temples on wheels. What’s important for visitors to remember, however, is that Jeepneys follow specific routes, just like buses. It is always best to inquire about the route before getting on board.

Weight Loss Advice For All

Disclaimer: This posting is based on information publicly available in the popular press and medical journals that deal with losing fat. Nothing herein is intended to be or should be interpreted to be any sort of medical advice. For medical advice the reader should consult with his or her physician or other medical specialist.

With a quick search on the internet, one will find that there are literally thousands of weight loss products being promoted online. It is no wonder that search terms such as “how to lose weight” are among the most heavily searched in the health/fitness category. Among the most popular are the products that contain some sort of wonder ingredient from another country, such as the brand new guarana pure. With the acai craze dying down, guarana seems to be aiming for the top of the very same market. Although actual experiences are hard to come by, the drug seems to be doing pretty well when used in conjunction with regular diet/exercise.

Yet another weight loss fad that has been around for years is the notion that our colons need to be detoxified if we want to lose weight and be healthier. A top product in this niche is called power colon cleanse and is experiencing growing popularity. It supposedly uses ingredients widely known to clean the colon of toxins and pave the way for a healthier, thinner lifestyle. Again, when these products are so heavily promoted it is hard to say how well they work, but from some basic research online it seems to be doing pretty well compared to other such cleanses.

Finally, there is a third category of weight loss products that are sweeping the world by storm known as vegetable cleanses. They apparently work similar to other cleanses but they boast the antioxidant power of vegetables. A new product in this niche is called the veggie9 cleanse which includes many leafy green vegetables that are said to have healing properties for the human body.

The Only Forex Megadriod Review You Need

This Forex Megadroid review takes a close look at the expert advisor software that claims it is “seeing into the immediate future with 95.82% accuracy”. Artificial intelligence is one thing - predicting the future is another. So how does the ‘droid measure up in practice? Can it really foretell the movements of the markets?

How It Works

Developed by John Grace and Albert Perrie from out of 38 years’ combined experience in the forex markets and launched in the spring of 2009, Forex Megadroid uses what is called ‘market adapting intelligence’ to make it flexible enough to achieve a high level of accuracy in a fluctuating market.

The criticism thrown at most automated forex software by many traders is that the robots can only make money if the markets are consistent. The old style of robot that was based on inflexible rules was not able to cope with major changes in the patterns of market fluctuations.

However, the new market adapting intelligence, as you might guess from the name, allows a new generation of forex robots to learn from these changing patterns so that they can adapt to a certain amount of inconsistency in the markets and refine their trading rules to fit. This gives your funds a much better chance of surviving when things become more than usually volatile.

Of course we are not talking about long term predictions. Forex Megadroid’s ‘reverse correlated time and price analysis’ (RCTPA) aims to predict market movements in the next 2 to 4 hours.

Results

At the time of writing, this EA has only been out for about 6 weeks so it is early days, but reports from users on the foreign exchange trading forums are very good. Many people are seeing 90% or more successful trades.

The bot needs to win 5 trades for every loss so a ratio of 90% will make good profits. Keep in mind though that this does not mean always 9 wins followed by 1 loss. You could have a couple of losses in short succession which will eat into gains and could frighten off beginners. Experienced traders know that losses are part of the game and you must be prepared for them.

In terms of percentage gains, users report 10% to 20% increase on live accounts over one month. That is a healthy profit.

Disadvantages

Users report that the Megadroid did not at first make as many trades as they expected. People were only seeing 3-4 trades a week. This meant that unless you wanted to risk large sums, you would not have a chance to make a lot of money in a short time, which many people starting out in forex want to do. So this was frustrating for many users.

However, a slow and steady approach is much more likely to lead to long term growth. If this software teaches beginners to look to the long term instead of trying to make a fortune overnight, it will be doing us all a service. So have patience while your bot is sitting there waiting to trade.

Anyway with the recent release of version 1.1, long gaps between trades do not seem to be so much of an issue and users are reporting up around 10-12 trades a week now.

Are Solar Panels Effective?

Introduction

There may be some confusion about the term Solar Power because there are a number of systems that have been established for many years using the sun to heat water, heat ovens to cook food or heat your home either directly or indirectly. But what we are really interested in is the idea of producing electricity from the sun. That electricity can then be used for different requirements not just for heating water or rooms. Technically Solar Power is any system which is powered by the sun to produce useable energy.

Making electricity really isn’t that hard so I am told. The technology is now available to convert the sun’s light into electricity using Photovoltaic cells. One company I know has developed large scale photovoltaic plants in Southern Spain, where of course there is plenty of sunshine. Panels made up of photovoltaic cells can be mounted on the roof or placed anywhere they will capture the sun. They are then connected to the electrical supply in the home and used to run the everyday appliances we depend on.

What Does Photovoltaic Mean?

Photovoltaic literally means light and electricity and the technology has been developed to convert solar energy into usable power. Basically the sun produces white light, which is just a different kind of energy; as I understand it, photovoltaic cells trap this light and turn the wavelengths into electricity. They do not need bright sunlight to operate so even on cloudy days electricity can be produced due to the reflection of sunlight, and on days of light cloud energy yields are higher than in bright sunshine.

How Photovoltaic Cells Work

To make these cells produce energy you need two layers of semi-conductor material which has been adapted, so that one is positively charged and the other negatively charged. When light shines on the semi-conductor, electrons are released to produce electricity. The greater the intensity of light the more electricity is produced. The electrical field across the junctions between the layers causes electricity to flow as (DC) Direct Current. Photovoltaic cells are then joined together to make panels which are positioned strategically to capture as much sunlight as possible on or around the designated building. Once the photovoltaic cells are joined together they officially become Solar Panels.

Where to Install the Solar Panels

Once you decide to have solar panels then positioning them for optimum light and sunlight is a serious consideration. If you have a good roof space high enough and not shaded by trees, preferably facing south or south west, then you will probably have the ideal location. Because we live a bungalow there is a huge roof facing south on one side. Looking at the design of the roof we concluded we could have several panels facing South East, South and South West thereby capturing sunlight throughout the whole day.

Solar panels can be mounted on frames on a flat roof or the ground or even on the side of buildings. I would think the main criteria are that they are safe and stable so they won’t fall over or blow away in high winds. The solar panel we have put in for hot water is securely mounted on our roof with strong metal fixings.

Solar panels are produced in many shapes and sizes, some are even made as roof tiles, and there is some new technology on the horizon enabling solar panels to be incorporated into actual windows. Smaller portable solar panels can be taken on holiday when you go camping or caravanning.

There are a number of ebooks on DIY solar power making it easy to make your own solar panels to provide enough electricity for your own needs.

Why Would You Want to Install Your Own Solar Power System?

Green Energy - Well firstly there is the issue of ‘going green’ and avoiding using carbon producing energy. There has never been a better time to do your bit to save the planet. Carbon emissions are contributing to the erosion of the glaciers which provide much of the world with drinking water. Global warming is a huge concern and if a large percentage of the world population reduce their carbon footprint then the hope is that global warming will slow to its natural cycle in the evolution of the earth.

Cost - Then there is the cost of electricity today. Utility companies are charging far too much for services and today I read in the paper that one company is not going to reduce the bills now that the price or raw materials has gone down. They plan to use the profits for re-investment! So in fact we are paying twice for the cost of re-investment.

Prices in the UK have trebled in the last year and even with less sunlight in the UK than many other countries solar power is still worthwhile to reduce the bills. During this financial crisis anything that can be done to reduce costs is of benefit. Once your solar system is up and running any excess electricity you produce can be sold back to the national grid. So instead of bills you get paid by the electrical companies for producing more than you can use.

Freedom - When I am showering using the water from my solar heating system, I have this wonderful sense of it being free hot water. I know it is not really free because we have already paid for its installation. But now it is done, it looks after itself and on sunny days there is masses of hot water. It does not need electricity to make the water flow through the pipes so if there is a power cut we can still get hot water.

My approach over the last few years has been to put in systems that free us from the tyranny of the electricity companies and the oil barons. Without independent systems we have no choices if the powerful companies decide to put up prices or cut us off.

The most persuasive argument for me was when Russia decided to cut off gas supplies to the customers when they had a contract in place so that the people of those countries had no fuel to keep them warm during the coldest winter months. From my perspective is seemed it was all because ‘the powers that be’ wanted to flex their power muscles and increase prices to line their own pockets. None of us want to be in that position.

DIY Solar Panels and Installation

Now that we have a solar hot water heating system installed we are keen to get started on producing our own electricity. We use a great deal of electricity running 5 computers for our home based business and overheads have gone through the roof this year.

Using solar panel kits is outlined in a number of e-books on the market to build your own solar power production system. with the results.

So why would you want to make your own solar panels and then install them yourself? Wind and Solar power systems have been on the market for years but the costs are virtually prohibitive. The cost of commercial panels makes nonsense out of the whole idea of recovering the outlay within a few years. Then there is the satisfaction of producing something vital to maintain our way of life with your own hands.(Rather like growing your own vegetables)

As well as making these panels for yourself and when you have become more skillful at making them, there is the possibility of a lucrative business producing and installing solar systems starting with your friends and neighbours. Once they start telling their friends about the savings they are making you will find you have more orders than you can handle.

Future for our Children and Grandchildren

The ways we have used and misused our natural resources are creating a legacy for our children and grandchildren which will be, to say the least, challenging. The fossil fuels will run out in the next century and as resources become scarce and population increases there will be powerful competition for what is left. I don’t think the world is going to be an easy place to live in and our descendents will have to adapt to a life that could in many ways, be similar to the Middle Ages in Britain or the early settler days in the US.

I won’t dwell on the possibilities of what could be, but I do think anything we can do to help establish a system using renewable energy will be the best legacy we can bestow on future generations.

A wonderful example of natural resources running out is on Easter Island. From study and research of this uninhabited island it would seem there was once a great number of trees. In fact it was completely covered in forest. The inhabitants cut down these trees as a source of fuel but also for carving images which you can still see on the island. However when the trees became scarce, instead of planting and nurturing their valuable resource, they continued to cut down the trees until there were none left. Because there was no more wood they had used up their means of survival so they all died out or possibly left. To this day it is an uninhabited island with no trees. (In New Zealand there is an oral history of the Maori people canoeing from the pacific islands to find their new land of the long white cloud. They could well have been the ones from Easter Island)

Storing Electricity or Selling Back to the Grid.

Just having solar panels is not sufficient to provide you with electricity for your requirements. Once electricity is produced there has to be a system to convey the correct power to the appliances. For the most basic system after the solar panel, you will need a charge controller which regulates the flow of electricity to the battery. A battery is an essential item to maintain the supply when it is dark and an inverter which is essential to convert the direct current (DC) generated by the solar panel to alternating current (AC) for use with all appliances. However by DIY the system could pay for itself within a couple of months.

Once your solar power system is up and running you could opt to just provide electricity for your own use and store any excess in deep cycle batteries. You may however prefer to sell the excess back to the national grid to offset any usage you might need over and above the production of the solar panels installed.

Once you have solar power it is up to you to decide whether to just provide electricity for your own use and store any excess in deep cycle batteries or not.

Apparently there are ways of getting deep storage batteries for free in which to store electricity that you have produced, over and above your current consumption. A charge controller is advisable to monitor and control the charging of the battery and prevent it being overcharged. Careful use of the battery will extend its life and save having to swap it so often.

Selling electricity back to the national grid will require installation of several more items than the basic system uses and is a little more complicated to install. But if it offsets the cost of the electricity you do need, it might be a better system .

Will it work in the UK?

Although sunlight hours are fewer in the UK than in other more sunny climates photovoltaic cells work with light, and as mentioned earlier, they work particularly well on partially cloudy days of which there are many. We already have several solar units in the garden and I have never known them to not have enough light to work, even in winter.

Will we run out of Raw Materials?

The semi-conductor material used in the construction of the solar cells is mostly silicon. Silicon is basically derived from sand and sand is the second most abundant material in the Earth’s mass. So I think it is unlikely we shall run out of raw materials.

Conclusion

Hot water powered by the sun has been in use for many years in countries where there is a plentiful supply of sun and is known as passive energy. However the development of new technology whereby light can be converted to electricity is a major step in the evolution of civilisation.

What I don’t understand is why Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia and Bahrain don’t make more use of this technology as it is sunny there most of the time and the land is mainly sand. Now that oil supplies are dwindling maybe they will turn their attention to other forms of electricity production and use their vast wealth to invest further in the solar and wind technology. They could even be the ones who ultimately end up dominating the industry. I did read that there are plans to turn parts of the Sahara into solar power farms, and that the plan is to export a fair amount of the power produced, into Europe. This could be an excellent export opportunity for Africa.

To be completely free of electricity from the grid would be a huge bonus for me and there seems to be a small revolution going on with a ground swell of public opinion demanding the use of renewable sources to produce energy. People are getting fed up with being hostage to energy companies and are looking for ways to alter the system.

It is a fact that solar power is one of the safest, easiest and cheapest ways to generate electricity for our homes. In an ever increasingly energy hungry planet, currently only 0.2% of energy comes from renewable sources and 93% comes from sources that will eventually run out. So now is the time to look for an alternative in the form of wind and solar energy to provide a very moral and ethical gift for the generations that follow

Techno music and songs available at JonLeger.com

You can now find a lot of great best techno at JonLeger.com. In case you’re interested in creating music yourself, here’s how he does it:

FL Studio

His primary tool for creating electronic music is FL Studio. FL Studio has it all: a mixer, a sequencer, loads of special effects and filters. Truly fantastic. He strongly suggests you purchase a copy! It takes a while to get used to using it, but it really makes music-making a digital breeze.

MAGIX Music Editor 2.0

When Jon needs to modify, cut and paste the sounds he uses in his songs, he uses MAGIX. It was cheap — he got it at Best Buy for $30. It’s very handy for the wave-editing that FL Studio can’t do. He looked at their site (magix.com), but I couldn’t find it. Maybe they don’t sell it anymore?

Bink Video’s RAD Video Tools

He’s started making songs based on movies and TV shows that he likes, and sometimes it’s useful to extract sounds from the movie trailers and movie clips that are available online. To accomplish this he uses the RAD Video Tools from Bink Video. They’re donationware, so be sure to give them a few bucks if you find their stuff useful (he did).

Loops and Samples

Jon has purchased thousands of loops, samples and instruments for use in FL Studio. Two of the places he’s gotten the sounds from are PlatinumLoops.com and PeaceLoveProductions.com. Both have a large selection at reasonable prices.

Hardware

He uses an audio-technica studio microphone for vocals (AT3035), and an Edirol UA-25 USB Audio Capture device to record from the microphone. He loves the Edirol because it’s very small (perfect for my desk) and supports two studio microphones and has a digital output for headphones.

If you’re interested in creating your own music, he wants to tell you this: it’s a lot easier (and cheaper) than you might think. You don’t need a studio (even for vocals). He records vocals in his office at home. All of the software and equipment costs came to around $1,250 (including the loops). The equipment all fits on my desk, and the software runs on my home PC. FL Studio needs a good bit of memory, so Jon suggests you don’t have less than 1GB of RAM (that’s how much he has and it works fine).

Sarbanes Oxley For Dummies

The financial world is not an easy place to navigate as a business owner. The rules and regulations adopted by congress recently, to protect the American public and keep large financial institutions solvent, have complicated matters more. Financial institutions’ officers want to make money, but they also want to be guarded from mistakes that could harm their companies, or put them behind the eight ball. Therefore, consulting companies have been made available in order to help meet all the government regulations and reporting obligations for companies who require guidance. These companies have programs that could be called Sarbanes Oxley Compliance for Dummies. If you don’t know what Sarbanes Oxley is, you willabsolutely need them.

The whole Sarbanes Oxley Compliance legislation is a complicated and far reaching set of restrictions and financial reporting rules that are conceived to keep publicly traded financial institutions honorable and solvent. For the past years, financial businesses and organizations have been attempting to correctly meet the reporting requirements introduced by the Sarbanes Oxley Compliance law. There are fines and criminal penalties for companies not in compliance, so it is essential to get it right every time. In companies better at making money than accounting and reporting, Sarbanes Oxley For Dummies is the type of program to venture for.

Even if a company’s main talent isn’t in book keeping and reports, it will be important to shop for a consulting firm and web-based software program to carry out those functions correctly and cost-effectively. Financial institutions burdened by the increasing complexity in the financial markets are spending more money and time on compliances that they could be spending on making money. Looking for a consulting company and software program that will be able to offer a sort of Sarbanes Oxley For Dummies can then be very fiscally smart. The name of the services doesn’t mean the officers of financial companies are really stupid, it only means it is designed to be less complicated in the presentation and easier to understand.

No matter what combination of software and consulting firm help is chosen, the end result will need to be a successful compliance year after year. No matter if the program is a Sarbanes Oxley For Dummies, or more sophisticated one, it still has to help the company achieve a compliance which will be easily repeatable and sustainable. The technology and software need to simplify the process and make automatic the institutions entire compliance program design. It will require documentation, tests, review capabilities, approval together with certification functions. There will need to be a positive work progression between the various parts of the company and the consulting firm to be able to manage problem areas and achieve compliance.

6 questions to ask when using co registration.

Co registration is when your newsletter sign up details is offered to customers when they sign upto a simular list. It has been an reserved technique used by a few Internet marketers for years and has only come into the main stream over the past year or so. The reason those marketers using it were so secretive is because co registration was a way to build massive on demand email lists without having a website and knowledge like that is priceless.

So how does a co reg companies work? Well co reg companies will have access to thousands of opt in pages that they can use to build your list. When a co reg campaign is set up the co reg company will match the type of compaign to the relevant website in their network and when someone signs up to one of those sites they are offered the opportunity to join your list also.

On a recent survey 8 out of 10 top marketers admitted co registration was the best internet marketing method to use for list building. When you are looking for a co reg broker make sure you find out the following before parting with any money:

  • Are the leads posted to an auto-responder in real time?
  • Are the leads targeted?
  • Does the company offer an incentive to people for signing up?
  • Are the opt in boxes pre-checked?
  • Do they offer a cancellation period?

The last point is very important as you don’t want to have to pay for thousands of leads that you don’t need or want. Make sure that you can cancel your order when you’ve reached your marketing budget limit. Another reason to make sure you can cancel is that some brokers will ask for an insertion order of $5000 and if you can’t cancel you’ll find yourself getting burnt. When contacting brokers make sure you find these details out and if you are asked for an full upfront payment avoid them.

Donating Car Parts and Broken Autos To Charities

After the updating of the laws concerning vehicle donations to charity, cars that are not running have been donated at a lower rate than was the case only some years ago, but even so, it doesn’t mean you have to keep that old car. It’s still possible to donate it to charity, albeit the tax deduction reward has been considerably reduced.

Normally, when you donate a vehicle that no longer runs, it will get towed away and sold, in essence, as a parts car. Though the majority of auto donations for autos in such a state are handled by a third-party (usually a for-profit company) agent as opposed to the charity itself, you are still able to get the old jalopy hauled away.

Nevertheless, you should know that that the deduction value which you can claim for a car sold on the wholesale market is considerably limited by the fractional amount it is likely to be sold for in addition to the overhead fees that are taken off the top by a third-party agent, the remaining value that is in fact given to the charity from the sale of the donated automobile is the extent of what may be written off under the new laws.

Ordinarily, the highest values for donated vehicles are obtained for cars and trucks that are still roadworthy, although some agencies will take some broken down cars and trucks for repair. If you can find an organization that has an ongoing mission of automotive training, even a non-working car has the possibility to be deducted at the higher “fair market value” in such cases.

Consequently, no matter how much it’s not running, such donated vehicles are still accepted by a numerous charities which accept automobile donations. Frequently, they will be bigger or national charities that don’t have a particular mission based on getting running cars to people. Unless there’s something especially cool or unique about your donated vehicle that would make it an ideal project car, you can presume that it will be sold for scrap or parts at a wholesale auction.

In spite of alterations to the law, there are still a lot of places that accept donated cars that are no longer running. The thing you have to consider is whether or not it has possibility of being fixed up for sale as a running vehicle.
